Pediatric Dentist: A Child With No Teeth Is An Unhappy Child
By Dave Kettner

A pediatric dentist is a dentist that works on the teeth and gums of children from age newborn to twelve. There is no real distinction between a child dentist and a normal dentist. Dental practitioners in include most examinations, diagnosis, treatment, planning and prevention of disease. The dentist and their helpers use x-ray machines and other equipment to ensure an exact diagnosis and treatment planning. Some of the treatments that may be used are filling cavities, removing the nerve endings in teeth, treating any disease in the gun area of the mouth, removing rotten or unrepairable teeth and replacing lost teeth with dentures.

Some severe cases, such as being born with deformed tooth cavities, will mean you must take your child to see an orthodontist. A child orthodontist can best determine how to remove the baby teeth and replace them with adult teeth when they get to the age of permanent teeth growth. You may need to see a cosmetic dentist when the time is right.

I remember my pediatric dentist when I was a child. She was very nice, always had a smile on her face and would tell me jokes about teeth type stuff. I rarely had any problems with my teeth or mouth areas and I would always get a lollipop after seeing her. A lollipop, which would coat my newly cleaned teeth with sugar. Now I am thirty years old and have had a root canal done as well as over twenty cavities. My parents never made me brush as a child and my pediatric dentist never showed me what to do and what not to do. That was not money well spent. Thanks a lot doc and mommy and daddy too. I really appreciate all the money that I have to spend now in my prime to fix what you did not care about when I was a child.
